Value of single Twitter post ranking: Ronaldo tops with $868k, Neymar on 3rd

Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo’s posts on Twitter are more valuable than those of any other athlete endorser, according to a report from athlete marketing platform Opendorse.

A tweet from the Juventus forward, who has 82.7 million followers on the social media platform, carries a value of US$868,606, putting the 35 year-old comfortably ahead of Spanish midfielder Andreas Iniesta (US$590,825) and Brazilian forward Neymar (US$478,138).

Ronaldo was already marked as sport’s top earner on Instagram last July, earning as much as US$975,000 per post, according to analytics firm HopperHQ.

Breaking soccer’s monopoly on Twitter is National Basketball Association (NBA) icon LeBron James in fourth with a value of US$470,356 per post, also making him the highest placed US athlete.

Other NBA players on the list include the Brooklyn Nets’ Kevin Durant, who is eighth with US$190,464, and the Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry in tenth with US$146,966 per tweet. They are the only other two US athletes in the top ten.

Rafael Nadal was the top tennis player on Opendorse’s list, coming ninth with a value per post of US$166,726.

The highest ranked female athlete was tennis great Serena Williams, with the 23-time Grand Slam winner having a per post value of US$115,926, putting her 13th on the list overall.
