Cardi B Addresses Homophobic Meme Posted To Her Facebook Page
Recently, Cardi B came under fire for an offensive meme that was
uploaded to her Facebook that was perceived as transphobic by the online
community.
But, now the emcee has asserted that the meme was uploaded by a former member of her staff and that she hasn’t had access to the Facebook page in over a year.

“It’s come to my attention that there have been offensive posts made on what used to be my Facebook page,” she wrote in a tweet. “For the past year and a half a FORMER team member has been the only one with access to the account.”Black trans women are being killed because of jokes like this. These niggas are killing us to keep women like you @iamcardib from finding out. Cause you’ll make fun of their manhood. This is how you encourage toxic masculinity that only ends up hurting you too sis! Apologize. pic.twitter.com/eooxFrp85j— Angelica Ross (@angelicaross) September 16, 2018
To double down, Cardi also took to Instagram to upload a screen recording of a conversation between her and what seems to be that former team member as she questions them on who uploaded the meme and why. This isn’t the first time that Cardi has been accused of being transphobic. In the past, she was called out for her previous use of the word “tranny.” In the caption attached to her latest upload, Cardi alludes to that situation, assuring fans that she learned from her past mistake and would never slip up and offend the LGBTQ community again. “I have always owned my shit,” she wrote. “After the last time the LGBTQ community educated me on the right and wrong way to say things. I would never forget that. This was the mistake of another individual and I apologize for them!”It's come to my attention that there have been offensive posts made on what used to be my Facebook page.
