Kim and Kanye West hire a surrogate to carry their third child
Kim Kardashian and husband Kanye West, have reportedly hired a surrogate to have their third child.
TMZ reports that the deal will cost the couple $113,850 a decision the pair have made since discovering that Kim suffered from placenta accreta – a condition that makes another pregnancy life-threatening.
It’s thought that the couple have used an agency to source a surrogate, and that they will pay her $45,000 in 10 monthly installments of $4,500; The initial deposit for this, that the married couple will pay the surrogate’s agency, is said to be a whopping $68,850.
TMZ also states that, should the pregnancy produce more than one child, the surrogate will receive an additional $5,000 per extra child ($5,000 extra for twins, $10,000 extra for triplets and so forth).
According to TMZ, the surrogate will have to abide by certain conditions that include common precautions for pregnant women. She won’t be able to smoke, drink alcohol or take drugs. She also can’t use hot tubs or saunas, go near cat litter or apply hair dye. She also can’t consume raw fish and needs to limit herself to one caffeinated beverage per day. Finally, she needs to refrain from sexual intercourse for three weeks following embryo implantation.
TMZ goes on to report that Kim and Kanye will assume the costs and legal and parental responsibilities for any child with congenital or “other abnormalities or defects.” They will also pay the surrogate an additional $4,000 if she loses any reproductive organs in the process.
