Here's Every New Game That Will Launch With The Nintendo Switch
It’s finally happened! Nintendo has fully reveal the new Nintendo Switch console along with prices and that March release date. But any console is only as good as its games, right?
Fortunately for us the mighty Ninty has a lot of developer friends who have been working very hard. The result is a whopping 80 games in development with a nice chunk announced at launch.
From the mighty Zelda to the lovable Mario, lots of our favourites are getting a reboot for the new hybrid console that lets you play at home or take the games anywhere.
Here are the games announced at launch...
The Legend Of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Time to breathe out in relief as the stunning new Zelda game is due for release with the console on 3 March. Yup, it’s also time to start throwing money at that screen. You’ll get cel-shaded graphics, open world gameplay and an entirely new story to learn about Link. March suddenly seems too far away.
Splatoon 2
Ink-firing
friends, your Switch time is here. This was always going to be a great
idea for Switch that allows for multiplayer gaming when out and about.
New levels and weapons are incoming and they’ll all work with those
Joy Con controllers attached or as a split for playing with pals.
The one problem? It’s not due out until the summer.
Super Mario Odyssey
The mighty Mario is back in his own new game that sees the wiley plumber jump out of the Mushroom Kingdom to come into the real world. OUR WORLD! This is an open world game so you’ll be totally free to explore and enjoy everything on offer. Expect Bowser to be up to his usual tricks with Peach poaching when this arrives in “Holiday, 2017”.
1-2 Switch
This game will launch in March with the console as a title made *specifically* for play with those Joy Con controllers. It’s aimed at multiplayer and should offer a lot of Wii U style movement-based fun.
Arms
This is a brand new game for the Nintendo Switch due out in the spring. It’s a fighting game featuring boxers with extendable arms. Movement is controlled by leaning the controllers while punching is done by real-world punches using the controller. A real arm workout then. Games and toned arms? Sign us up!
Arms works solo, split screen on the TV with a second set of Joy Con controllers, or against others with the Switch console.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
This is the big game from Square Enix, the people behind Final Fantasy. Other than an image of a massive sword wielding character there’s little else given away. This didn’t even get a release date so don’t expect it anytime soon.
Fire Emblems Warriors
This is another mystery. It will add a new set of characters to the game. But a release date and any details were not given.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
The awesome Skyrim has been remastered to work on the Switch. That means one of the most time-consumingly addictive games ever can now be played on the move too. Yay! This didn’t get a release date but is expected to arrive at some point this year.
FIFA 17
What would a new console be without its football game? OF COURSE it’s FIFA 17! The Switch should enhance the title as it’ll allow multiplayer gaming with friends when out and about as well as online gaming at home.
